Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union Announces Renovation to Enhance Member Experience & Support Continued Growth
Lisbon Office Renovations to begin Spring 2026
Lisbon, Maine — [January 2026] — Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union (LCFCU) has announced plans to renovate its main office in Lisbon, a project designed to modernize the member experience and reflect the Credit Union’s continued growth and commitment to the communities it serves.
Construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2026 and is projected for completion by Spring 2027. During this time, LCFCU will remain open for business at their temporary location of 2 Bisbee Street in Lisbon, ME (above Two Rivers Dentistry) with minimal disruption to member services. Renovation Updates can be found at LisbonCU.org/renovation .
Investing in the Member Experience
The Lisbon office renovation will include a complete redesign of the branch’s lobby and service areas, new private offices for consultations, upgraded technology to improve efficiency, and enhancements to accessibility and comfort.
“This renovation is a reflection of our continued growth and our dedication to providing the best possible experience for our members,” said Sarah Perkins, President/CEO of Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union. “We’re not just updating our space — we’re building for the future. Every improvement is designed with our members and community in mind.”
The refreshed design will also incorporate modern finishes and a more flexible, welcoming layout, creating a space that’s both functional and inviting for members and staff.
Commitment to Community
Lisbon Community FCU has been a trusted part of the community since 1959, proudly serving members throughout Lisbon, Lewiston, Auburn, and surrounding areas. The renovation underscores the Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to reinvesting in the local economy, improving accessibility, and supporting the financial wellness of its members.
“As our membership grows, so does our responsibility to evolve,” added Perkins. “This project ensures that Lisbon Community Credit Union remains a place where members feel comfortable, connected, and confident about their financial future.”

Lisbon, ME — [January 2026] — Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of its Dream Box initiative, unveiled during this year’s Very Merry Main Street celebration in Lisbon Falls.
Community members submitted an incredible 160 heartfelt wishes, each sharing hopes for joy, comfort, and meaningful moments. While every dream told a powerful story, Lisbon Community FCU was honored to grant two wishes that will make a lasting impact on local families.
One recipient, Kathee McLean, shared a dream centered on togetherness—a family trip to Santa’s Village in 2026. The experience will give the McLean family the chance to create treasured memories filled with laughter, tradition, and holiday magic.
The second dream was submitted by Kandace Conner, whose wish focused on helping others. Kandace hoped to provide her grandparents, including Jackie Merrill, with a handicap-accessible shower, improving safety and comfort in their daily lives.
“These wishes reflect the heart of our community,” said Ron Hood, Marketing Officer at Lisbon Community FCU. “From joyful family experiences to thoughtful acts of care, the Dream Box reminds us that dreams don’t always look the same—but every one of them matters.”
Very Merry Main Street is a beloved annual community event that brings together local organizations, volunteers, and residents to celebrate the season and support one another. The Dream Box initiative was created to give attendees a space to share their hopes and dreams, reinforcing LCFCU’s commitment to community connection and compassion.
Lisbon Community FCU extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, shared a wish, and helped make this initiative so meaningful.

Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union Donates $2,000 to Support Local Food Pantries and Launches November Food Drive
Lisbon, ME — [November 2025] — Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union (LCFCU) has announced a $2,000 donation to support two local food pantries—Lisbon Area Christian Outreach (LACO) and Gather To Grow in Lewiston—as they respond to a growing number of families seeking help.
Local food pantries are reporting a dramatic increase—some as high as 50%—in individuals and families requesting assistance. Many are faced with difficult decisions between putting food on the table or paying for essentials such as rent, fuel, and utilities.
“At Lisbon Community FCU, our mission has always been rooted in people helping people,” said Sarah Perkins, President/CEO of Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union. “We’re seeing more and more of our neighbors struggling with basic needs, and we wanted to take action. This donation is one way we can provide immediate support while also encouraging others to get involved.”
In addition to the $2,000 donation, LCFCU has launched a November Food Drive to further assist the community.
The Lisbon Office is collecting non-perishable food items for LACO.
The Lewiston Office is collecting non-perishable food items for Gather To Grow.
“All month long, we’re inviting members, staff, and community friends to drop off donations at either of our locations,” Perkins added. “Every contribution—big or small—helps strengthen our community and reminds those in need that they’re not alone.”
Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union has a long-standing commitment to community giving, including support for the Maine Credit Union Campaign for Ending Hunger, local scholarships, and the George Roy Community Grant.

Lisbon Community FCU Participates in CU Kind Day
Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union is proud to join credit unions across Maine and the nation in celebrating the first-ever CU Kind Day, a new statewide initiative dedicated to spreading kindness, increasing credit union awareness, and giving back to the communities we serve.
Launched by the Maine Credit Union League and inspired by a program created by Affinity Plus CU in Minnesota, CU Kind Day showcases the cooperative spirit of the credit union movement through acts of kindness and community impact. Participating credit unions will dedicate the day—or days surrounding October 13—to charitable giving, volunteerism, and outreach efforts that uplift their local communities.
Lisbon Community FCU Supports Friends of the Lisbon Library
In the spirit of CU Kind Day, Lisbon Community Credit Union has chosen to support Friends of the Lisbon Library, a local nonprofit that provides vital fundraising and advocacy for the Lisbon Library, which has served the Lisbon community since 1922.
The Lisbon Library began with just 10 books in its collection and now offers more than 35,000 materials for residents of Lisbon and Lisbon Falls. Friends of the Lisbon Library was officially established as a nonprofit in 2000 to help renovate the library’s basement into a Children’s Room and continues to support library programming and materials through ongoing fundraising efforts.
“Our library is such a cornerstone of the community,” said Sarah Perkins, President/CEO of Lisbon Community Credit Union. “By helping Friends of the Lisbon Library expand their collection, we’re investing in the lifelong learning and creativity of our neighbors — which is exactly what CU Kind Day is all about.”
Funds donated through Lisbon Community Credit Union’s CU Kind Day initiative will help Friends of the Lisbon Library purchase new books and resources for the community. The impact of this contribution is significant — for example, a family of four who checks out 10 books per month saves roughly $2,250 annually compared to buying those books outright.
About CU Kind Day
CU Kind Day aligns perfectly with the Maine Credit Union League’s $100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge and the global celebration of International Credit Union Day on October 16. It serves as a powerful reminder that when credit unions come together, our collective kindness makes a lasting difference.
Credit unions across Maine are encouraged to celebrate in their own way — from organizing volunteer projects and food drives to making donations to local nonprofits such as Friends of the Lisbon Library, Special Olympics Maine, or Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
“CU Kind Day unites credit unions through the philosophy of People Helping People,” said Perkins. “When we each take part in something kind, together we create a movement of compassion and community connection that defines who we are.”
