Join the LCFCU Supervisory Committee
Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union is seeking two member volunteers to serve on our Supervisory Committee.
This important committee plays a vital role in ensuring the credit union remains financially sound, transparent, and operating in the best interests of its members. The Supervisory Committee is comprised of three to five Members appointed annually by the Board of Directors.
Serving on the Supervisory Committee is a meaningful way to support your credit union and help protect the financial well-being of fellow members.
What Does the Supervisory Committee Do?
The Supervisory Committee serves as an independent oversight body that helps ensure the credit union operates safely, responsibly, and in accordance with regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing the credit union’s financial records and reports
• Ensuring proper internal controls are in place
• Overseeing independent audits
• Helping safeguard member assets
• Monitoring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements

Who Should Apply?
We welcome interest from members who:
• Care about the success and integrity of their credit union
• Have strong attention to detail
• Are willing to ask thoughtful questions and review reports
• Can commit time to periodic meetings throughout the year
Experience in accounting, finance, compliance, auditing, or business operations is desirable.
Time Commitment & Expectations
The Supervisory Committee typically meets monthly to review audit reports, financial information, and internal control procedures.
The Committee currently meets at 3:00pm on the Friday before the fourth Wednesday of each month. At these meetings Board of Director activities are reviewed and the monthly/quarterly activities outlined in the Supervisory Committee Overview are performed. These meetings typically last 2 hours.
Committee members are also expected to:
• Perform assigned audits between Supervisory Committee meetings. These audits typically take about 1 hour.
• They are also required to attend the LCFCU Annual Meeting.
• Additional time may occasionally be required to review materials or participate in audit-related discussions.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
• Be a member in good standing of Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union
• Be at least 18 years old
• Be able to maintain confidentiality
• Be willing to serve in a volunteer capacity as committee members, like board members, receive no compensation
• Complete a background check
• Be committed to acting in the best interest of the membership
